Incredibly effective product! Great for sensitive, irritated skin
This is a truly great product at a much lower price than its competitors. I bought it for a rash on my hands. It is truly unscented and fragrance free, and it does not irritate my very sensitive skin. It is very thick (see the photo with the lid off) and has a smooth consistency. It leaves my skin feeling much softer, smoother and more moisturized. It’s the only ointment without topical steroids that I’ve found to be effective at improving a very stubborn rash on my hands or healing chafed, raw skin. For people who haven’t used it before, it is greasy, doesn’t rub in all the way, and can stain clothing, sheets, upholstery, etc. (I can usually get the stain out, but it’s a nuisance)—But that’s true of any ointment. I use it on my hands at night and put cotton gloves directly over the ointment, then nitrile gloves over the cotton gloves. The gloves keep the ointment on my hands (where it belongs) and prevent it from getting all over my sheets and pajamas.

real help during winter
We tried different weather protectants during this winter, and it seems that our toddler and his grandma prefer Cetaphil. It has shea butter and beewax in addition to contents of pure Vaseline. Both Shea butter and bee wax are known to soften skin, shea butter is providing anti- inflammation effect, that is much needed for my grandson, and bee wax is both antibacterial and antiviral. Compare to Vaseline, which we also use, Cetaphil has a little bit more density and that is what our toddler likes, he calls Cetaphil the thick Vaseline, lol. And both grandmas and grandson love the very subtle, slightly honeyed scent of Cetaphil which bee wax provides, the natural aroma that almost undetectable – my daughter and son-in-law do not detect the scent at all, it makes just two of us who recognize and enjoy the scent. Overall, Cetaphil helped us a lot this winter, as very good weather protectant for my grandson and also provided noticable relief for grandmas eczematous skin.
