OG of sound machines
Love this sound machine. I have two at my house for both my daughters. ChatGPT called this machine the OG of sound machines when I was looking for one and it was right. These do a great job at blocking sound. My mom also has one at her house for the girls. She lives in an apartment and so there’s always noises from people outside. It really helps my two year old when she spends the night. Before she would wake up whenever she heard noises and cry. Now with this sound machine she sleeps all night. Worth every penny! Love the different options for making the machine louder or softer. We use the loudest option and it works great!

Definitely Helping
When I read the reviews of this product before purchasing, I was trying to determine whether this sound machine could potentially drown out some amazingly loud neighbor noise. I have someone that lives above me. Jurassic Jenny gets up every morning at 6:00 AM and stomps back and forth from the bedroom to the bathroom until 8:00 AM like she’s late for the airport. Plus I get to hear her drag her deck furniture across the attached deck for the three cigarettes she smokes every morning… because it just wouldn’t be as fun if she had to sit in the exact same spot for each ciggy. Please note that my alarm is set for 8:30. I bought this machine in hopes of drowning out the daily stampede.Although it would be virtually impossible to muffle Attila the Jen… I have to say the Dohm does pretty well. It covers up the stomps that are particularly further away (like when she madly dashes into the kitchen) but everything directly overhead I can still hear. But the Dohm has helped me to STAY ASLEEP during Jenny’s multiple, random trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I will be getting a second sound machine to turn on when the running with the bulls tournament starts at 6:00. But I have to say the Dohm has helped me to at least DOZE during “Am I Insane Yet? Theater” rather than lie there with my eyes open staring at the ceiling and wondering how anyone could possibly walk so bleeping loudly. Oh – and yes, I have it on the loudest setting possible. It also helps to drown out some of the golf course lawn mowing that goes on in my backyard every day at 7:00 AM. The mowing does not drown out Jenny. One particularly loud thunderstorm was tough competition, but there was no clear winner.The sound is very pleasing and I can sleep through it just fine. I saw some recommendations to have it across the room from you. I tried that and it actually sounded louder, like it was filling the room, rather than just being segregated to one corner of the room. But at first I had it on the bottom shelf of a tiered night stand, so I think the shelf above it was altering the sound.

Loud and effective
I’ve had a Dohm for I can’t remember how many years. It finally started making underlying weird metallic noises . This looks exactly the same except it has only one volume button, but you can turn the top holes open or closed. This doesn’t make much difference. It is plugged in and has a manual on/off switch. But it is so loud I think most people wouldn’t like it. I’ve been using a fan app on my phone. BUT in order to turn that on or off you have to pick up the phone and hit the app. The light wakes me up from either my morning sleep or nap. Many reviews say this is short-lived so I will see.

Best sound machine on the market
This is a high quality & long lasting sound machine. This is the 2nd one I’ve purchased. I’ve had the other for many years. It is a few volume settings that are easy to use. It is portable and easy to move around. I even use it when traveling. It comes with 2 volumes with a simple switch. The top twist feature lets you set the white noise type you want. It’s overall functionality and use is top tier. For kids, I recommend placing by the door to block noise from outside the room. I personally use it next to my bed.

You get about 3 years from one
I have a love/hate relationship with these. While I think they are one of the best noise machines out there, and use it for my entire family nightly, I’m frustrated by how quickly they stop working properly.Two of my devices have started making horrible squealing noises after about 3 years of use. I was hoping to get more life out of the devices, but I suppose daily use just wears them down. I’ve seen multiple people online state that they last for decades, but that just hasn’t been the case for ours.

This is the best white-noise machine out there. It’s the third one we buy; we now all have one in our bedrooms. It’s a steady noise; perfect for sleeping, concentrating, cutting out annoying noise coming from outside. Not quite as loud as an air purifier, but louder than a regular fan. Over the years, our kids have inherited our DOHM and the oldest model we have is probably 10 years old now. It still makes a perfectly steady noise; no rattles. We are 3 pp with ADHD in the family and this white-noise maker helps tremendously!!

Siempre he tenido sueño ligero, y me molestan mucho ciertos ruidos exteriorres en las noches (perros, vecinos ruisosos, etc.) y este aparato es maravilloso. Anteriormente yo ponia un ventilador cuando habia ruidos externos, y el motor del ventilador “tapaba” esos ruidos, pero a veces el aire que aventaba el ventilador llegaba a ser molesto (por ejemplo en tiempo de frio).Con este aparato, tienes el ruidito arrullador de un motor moviendose (porque son partes mecánicas las que producen el ruido) pero sin el aire de un ventilador. El ruido también se puede ajustar a mayor o menor intensidad.Funciona mucho mejor si tienes ventanas y puertas cerradas, así el poco ruido que se llegue a filtrar, lo tapa este aparato.

We bought this to help our newborn son go to sleep and stay asleep, since we were living in a small 2 bedroom apartment and wanted to mask the noises we made in the kitchen or other rooms while baby was sleeping. This noise machine was easy to operate and adjust the sound. I like that it is a true noise machine (it just sounds like a loud fan), and not a recording that loops over and over again. Baby slept mostly uninterrupted. We think he’s now able to tune into ‘sleep mode’ when we turn the noise machine on. Baby’s about to turn 1 year old now, and we still use this noise machine below his crib every night. Great purchase, effective noise machine.

Works like a charm. My sister-in-law recommended this product, she has one for both her kids (ages 2 and 4).In the past, I was using my iPad with Bluetooth speakers to play white noise for both my kids. Soon after I received it in the mail, I put it on for their naps (I have a 6 month old and a 3 year old). It works like a charm! Before this machine, everyone (including my 3 year old) was required to be on stealth mode soon after the 6 month old baby went to bed (at 6:00PM). Almost impossible with the 3 year old but he did his best. This machine cancelled out the noise we made upstairs as well as, it helped my son sleep soundly.As my husband and I listened to sound we both observed the sound it emits somehow clears your mind. Call me crazy. It works. I am happy with this product.
