Crucial Boppy Accessory
I received one protective cover from my Amazon baby registry upon my daughter’s birth in August 2010 and bought another in December 2010. I’m still using both of them as of November 2011.Both covers have been extremely durable despite constant weekly to bi-weekly alternating use under another Boppy cover, occasional use as the sole cover, and me shoving a Boppy pillow into them with force while I’m trying to finish the laundry and my daughter is screaming for neh. Zippers of lesser items costing much more have self-destructed under far less stress. It even stays white and the fabric stays fresh in all those regular washes. Sometimes this cover can even be wipe-clean.Inevitably in the last fourteen months I’ve had ample opportunity to test out its water resistance. There has been urine, some poop leakage, spit-up, bottles of water (oops), ice cream (oops again), snot (that one’s not me), neh, and all manner of other liquids. While many have penetrated the top “decorative” Boppy cover and ended up on the protective cover, none have appeared on my Boppy pillow.Please note that this product is not water *proof*, it is water *resistant*. It will prevent minor spillages from getting through completely (eg the previously mentioned ice cream or small amounts of the rest). But for major spillages (eg diaper blowouts, vomit,) you get at least a few to about fifteen minutes to dab with a paper towel and/or remove the Boppy cover prior to the liquid working its way down to the pillow. Plus who doesn’t want (or need) to change the covers quickly after a major liquid incident?Dirtying of the pillow would be almost instant with even a minor accident of mother or baby sans this protective cover. 5 stars is not enough.

Works as advertised
It won’t completely block water (or spit-up) from getting to the inner pillow, but it blocks enough that my Boppy is still pristine!Using it with the Boppy brand pillow makes it a perfect fit, and you can still add a softer pillow case over this one for comfort and/aestheticsI recommend having 2 of these on hand so when you need to wash one you can use the other and not lose our on the protection in the meantime

Great to have but my issue is with the Boppy pillow itself
This cover has been great to go with the Boppy nursing pillow as an additional layer of protection and you can still put one of the cute covers on top of this. My main issue isn’t with the covers but with the Boooy pillow itself. I don’t find it that helpful in the it doesn’t bring the baby up to the proper level to nurse and there’s isn’t a way to adjust the baby’s angle so that their head is higher to avoid gas (I still have to use 2 additional pillows to get the position right). The pillow also slides and if you have a larger waistline then I have no idea how the pillow will fit bc the hole is already pretty small. I have to hold my child and keep the Boppy pillow in place which I don’t feel I should also have to worry about on top of juggling the logistics of nursing.

Essential nursing item
After two months of spit up and many washes I can report that I’m very happy with this cover. I’m thinking about buying a second so when this ones is in the wash I can have a back up. I have the monkey slip cover over it though because its not the softest thing in the world, but it keeps the spit up off the pillow which would be much harder to wash regularly so I’m very happy with it. I think some of the other reviewers expectations where off, the cover is water resistant not waterproof, big difference. If your baby spits up a bit and you get the cover off in a reasonable amount of time it should be fine. But if baby throws up or pees on it, its probably going to go through a bit, but not as much as without it. You still need to wash your pillow sometimes but no where near as much as without it.

Quality fabric
The quality is good but it is not exactly what I was looking for. Its isnt really water resistant and doesnt protect the pillow from fluids. Maybe a little but but not completely.
